The Church of Scientology in the Heart of the Midwest

Just as Kansas is the heart of the U.S., the Church of Scientology of Kansas City is the heart of the Scientology movement in the Midwest where L. Ron Hubbard developed much of Scientology’s fundamental technology on the mind, spirit and life.

Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, is a native of Missouri’s sister state, Nebraska. It was in Wichita, Kansas, following breakthrough research on the human spirit, that he first publicly announced the Scientology religion at the Hubbard Dianetics Research Foundation in 1952.

Over the last half century, Scientology has expanded throughout the Midwest, helping thousands of individuals be in better control of their lives and help themselves and others achieve their full potential.

The church is located just off Main Street on E 39th Street. It is open 7 days a week for tours and introductory services.

To find out how Scientology works, you do courses called Life Improvement Courses that focus on specific aspects of life. You learn information and proven, workable techniques you can use immediately to confront and change difficult situations in your life.

Community Activities

Scientologists also work actively to help improve their communities. Volunteer Ministers offer their assistance with life’s daily problems and also at the scene of disasters such as fires and earthquakes.

In the aftermath of 9/11, for example, 800 Scientology Volunteer Ministers assisted the firemen and rescue workers at Ground Zero, and provided relief from the mental and spiritual devastation.
